On start-up, there's a caution that DNS "appears to be running in compatibility mode"-which, in fact, it is not. Any suggestion of how to get out of this dead-end will be much appreciated.Īs to how the DNS actually runs on my set-up, there are a couple of anomalies but not in the actual main functions of the program. exe file to see if a right-click on it would show the Preferences option. Worse yet, I haven't been able to locate the DNS. The alias that had been placed on the Win desktop when the program was installed, which I had foolishly trashed, showed the Preferences option, but none of the alias icons for the program show a Preferences option. Sad to say, however, once I got the program running, a right-click on the program icon no longer shows a Preferences option to see the successful combination (which, of course, I can't recall). I just kept trying different combinations until one finally worked. The critical step in getting DNS to run was in the particular choice of compatible settings selected. No error message, just dead in the water. Initially, it installed without a hitch but wouldn't run. FWIW, since this may be old news, I've got DNS 13 Premium running on Windows 11 and Parallels 17 on my newM1 (ARM-based) iMac.
